About GalaxEye Space
GalaxEye Space is a pioneer in the Earth Observation (EO) industry, building the world's first multi-sensor imaging satellite. By combining Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Multi-Spectral Imager (MSI) through our proprietary SyncFused technology, we provide high-resolution, all-weather, and day-night imaging capabilities that were previously impossible.

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Image Analyst to join our Data Operations sub-team. In this role, you will support the day-to-end processing and quality assessment of satellite and drone-borne imagery. You will work closely with Senior Analysts to learn the nuances of X-band SAR and MSI data, contributing to the delivery of high-quality "SyncFused" products to our global customers. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to specialize in multi-sensor remote sensing.

Key Responsibilities
1. Data Processing & Analysis
Execute standard processing workflows for raw X-band SAR and Multi-Spectral (MSI) datasets.
Support the generation of Level-1 and Level-2 data products, ensuring compliance with internal naming and metadata standards.
Assist in the co-registration and fusion of multi-sensor data.
2. Drone-Borne Data Support
Assist in the processing and organization of imagery collected during drone-borne sensor testing campaigns.
Participate in field data collection activities (Cal/Val) as required.
Perform initial visual inspections of drone-based imagery to identify motion blur, artifacts, or sensor noise.
3. Quality Control (QC) & Reporting
Conduct routine Quality Control (QC) checks using GalaxEye’s evaluation framework to identify anomalies, artifacts, or radiometric inconsistencies.
Document and report data quality issues to the stakeholders for further troubleshooting.
Maintain logs of data deliveries and processing performance metrics.
4. Calibration & Validation Assistance
Help manage "ground truth" datasets used for sensor calibration.
Support the deployment and measurement of corner reflectors and spectral targets during Cal/Val campaigns.
Perform basic statistical analysis on image pixels to verify radiometric accuracy.
5. Learning & Development
Actively participate in internal training modules on SAR phenomenology and MSI atmospheric correction.
Stay updated on industry standard tools and open-source libraries for remote sensing.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications
-Educational Background: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Physics, Geography, or a related field.
-Experience: 0-2 years of experience in image processing (internship experience is highly valued).
Technical Skills:
-Basic proficiency in Python for data manipulation.
-Familiarity with GIS and Remote Sensing software (e.g., QGIS, SNAP, ENVI, or ArcGIS).
-Understanding of coordinate reference systems (CRS) and map projections.
-Mindset: Strong attention to detail and a passion for space technology and earth observation.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with open-source EO libraries like GDAL, Rasterio, or WhiteboxTools.
-Basic understanding of SAR back scatter or spectral signatures of different land covers.
-Previous exposure to drone data or photogrammetry.
