About Us
Qure.ai is a global healthtech company using artificial intelligence to improve disease detection and patient outcomes at scale. Our solutions are deployed across hospitals, diagnostic networks, and public health programs worldwide.
Today, our technology has impacted 40M+ lives across 105+ countries, deployed across 5,200+ sites, and powered by one of the world's largest real-world medical imaging datasets. With 26 FDA-cleared indications, we are helping shape the future of AI-driven healthcare.
The Opportunity
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, ML and LLM systems, and scaling healthcare AI globally. As a Senior Software Engineer (Go), you will help establish Go as a core part of Qure's technology stack: designing and building scalable, production-grade services on AWS that power the plumbing around our ML and LLM systems, including APIs, event pipelines, hospital-system integrations (PACS / DICOM / HL7), agentic workflows, and high-throughput orchestration where Python is not the right tool. As Qure scales to support tens of millions of patients across 105+ countries, the Go layer needs to handle real load with reliability, cost efficiency, and clinical-grade safety. If you enjoy owning systems end-to-end and setting standards that others will inherit, this is a rare opportunity to shape how high-performance backend engineering is done at Qure.
What You'll Own & Drive
- Architect and ship scalable, production-grade Go services end-to-end on AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDB) for healthcare workloads at real scale
- Make scaling, reliability, and cost trade-offs explicit through capacity planning, load testing, and post-incident reviews; build for the next order of magnitude, not just today's load
- Build Go services that power LLM and agentic workflows: gateways, tool orchestration, structured outputs, and reliable agent runtime under cost and latency constraints
- Define the Go playbook at Qure: project layout, testing patterns, observability, deploy story, and on-call runbooks that future Go engineers will inherit
- Set the technical and cultural boundary between Go and Python: what moves, what stays, why, and how we measure it
- Drive design decisions through written RFCs and lead cross-functional initiatives across engineering, product, and clinical teams
- Hire, mentor, and level up Go engineers as the practice grows; set the bar for code review and technical writing
- Operate what you ship: own reliability, security posture, and incident response for Go services in production
- Contribute to internal Go guidelines, security practices, and developer enablement across the org
What Success Looks Like
In the first 6–12 months, you will:
- Establish the foundational Go playbook (project layout, testing, observability, deploy, on-call) that future Go services and engineers will inherit
- Ship the first production Go services end-to-end and validate them under real healthcare workloads
- Set clear, measurable criteria for what moves from Python to Go and what stays
- Onboard additional Go engineers as the practice grows
- Build credibility for Go as a core part of Qure's platform through demonstrated reliability, cost efficiency, and scale
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with 3+ years shipping production Go in systems you have operated, not just contributed to
- Deep AWS serverless experience: Lambda cold-starts, IAM scoping, EventBridge / Step Functions / SQS, and cost trade-offs you've felt firsthand
- Track record of starting or significantly shaping a codebase that others followed
- Proven ability to design and operate scalable distributed systems: capacity planning, idempotency, retries, dead-letter handling, eventual consistency, and observability that works at 3am
- Excellent written communication: design docs, RFCs, and code reviews that level up the team
- Pragmatic polyglot mindset: respects Python; can articulate when Go is not the right choice
- Production exposure to LLM or agentic systems: gateways, tool use, prompt patterns, evaluation, and the operational quirks (latency, cost, determinism, fallbacks) of working with model providers
- Comfort using Claude / Copilot / LLM tooling in your daily workflow
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries is a strong plus
