## Role Overview
## "The Fire Hydrant & Fire Fighting System Design Engineer will be responsible for detailed engineering, hydraulic calculations, design review, execution support, testing, and commissioning of firefighting systems for industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy, and BESS projects. The candidate must have strong expertise in fire hydrant system design, pump sizing, hydraulic calculations, firefighting standards, and firefighting design software such as PipeNet. "
## Key Responsibilities
1.Engineering & System Design
• Prepare and review fire hydrant layouts, pump room layouts, piping GA/isometrics, equipment datasheets, and BOQ.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pressure drop calculations, and pump sizing.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, NBC India, TAC, and IS standards.
2. Hydraulic Calculation & Software Expertise
• Perform hydraulic calculations using PipeNet, AutoSPRINK, Elite Fire, or equivalent software.
• Verify residual pressure, flow demand, and network balancing.
3. Procurement & Technical Evaluation
• Prepare RFQs and technical specifications for firefighting equipment.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor coordination.
4. Site Execution Support
• Verify installation quality, supports, hydro testing, and execution compliance.
5. Testing & Commissioning
• Witness hydro tests, flow tests, pressure tests, and pump performance tests.
• Ensure proper functioning of main, jockey, and diesel fire pumps.
6. Compliance & Documentation
• Prepare calculation reports, commissioning reports, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 24, NBC India, and TAC.
7. Safety & Risk Management
• Identify design and execution risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Support fire audits and safety inspections.
