## Role Overview
## The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for detailed 3D modeling, mechanical design, and manufacturing drawings for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) applications. The candidate should have strong experience in battery pack enclosure design, BESS container design, ACDB panel design, structural assemblies, sheet metal design, and integration of electrical and mechanical components. The role requires close coordination with electrical, CFD, structural, and manufacturing teams to develop optimized and manufacturable BESS solutions.
## Key Responsibilities
1. 3D Modeling & Mechanical Design
• Develop 3D models and manufacturing drawings for:
– Battery pack enclosures
– BESS containers
– ACDB panels
– Battery racks
– HVAC mounting structures
– Cable tray and support structures
– Lifting arrangements and base frames
• Prepare:
– GA drawings
– Fabrication drawings
– Assembly drawings
– BOMs
– Exploded views
– Sheet metal flat patterns
2. Product Development & Design Coordination
• Coordinate with electrical, CFD, structural, and manufacturing teams.
• Support integration of battery systems, fire protection systems, HVAC systems, and electrical panels.
3. Sheet Metal & Structural Design
• Design sheet metal parts and welded structures.
• Ensure manufacturability and assembly feasibility.
• Optimize designs for weight, strength, and production efficiency.
4. Design Validation & Documentation
• Review tolerance stack-up and fitment.
• Support prototype development and design improvements.
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
5. Site & Manufacturing Support
• Coordinate with production teams during fabrication and assembly.
• Support resolution of manufacturing and installation issues.
6. Standards & Compliance
• Ensure designs comply with IP protection requirements, structural standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements.
