Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Reports To: Lead – Systems Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanisms,
structures and assemblies for cutting -edge space missions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
creating reliable mechanical systems and performing FEA analyses and design calculations that meet
mission and environmental requirements. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary
teams to ensure mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and integration readiness of all spacecraft
components.
Key Responsibilities
> 1.
Design and Development:
> •
Design and develop spacecraft mechanical systems, including primary and secondary
structures, brackets, panels, payload mounts, and deployment mechanisms.
> •
Design and develop mechanical ground support equipment.
> •
Perform detailed 3D modelling, assembly design, and drawing creation using CAD tools (e.g.,
SolidWorks, Siemens NX).
> •
Optimize designs for weight, stiffness, and manufacturability while meeting performance and
environmental constraints.

Analysis and Validation:
> •
Conduct structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses (FEA, modal, vibration, and thermal stress
analysis) using tools such as ANSYS .
> •
Perform tolerance analysis, fit checks, and ensure proper alignment across interfaces and
mating assemblies.
> •
Support environmental qualification by correlating analysis results with test data.

Manufacturing and Assembly Support:
> •
Co -ordinate with manufacturers to define material selection, surface treatments, and
machining processes. • Prepare manufacturing drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly procedures in
accordance with industry standards.
> •
Support integration and assembly activities to ensure design intent is maintained throughout
the build process.

Testing and Verification:
> •
Develop and execute test plans for functional, qualification and acceptance testing.
> •
Participate in environmental tests (vibration, shock, thermal vacuum) and validate mechanical
performance.
> •
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical anomalies during integration and testing.
> 5.
Documentation and Configuration Management:
> •
Maintain proper documentation including design reports, interface control documents (ICDs),
and design review packages.
> •
Ensure design compliance with internal standards and external aerospace regulations (ECSS,
NASA, ISRO standards).
Minimum Qualifications
> •
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
field
> •
Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in spacecraft or aerospace mechanical design,
structural analysis, or product development. Hands -on experience in satellite assembly and
environmental testing is preferred.
> •
Technical Skills:
> o
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA or similar)
> o
Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, or similar).
> o
Knowledge of aerospace materials (aluminum alloys, titanium, composites) and
manufacturing processes (CNC, additive manufacturing).
> o
Familiarity with GD&T and mechanical design documentation practices.
> o
Understanding of thermal and structural considerations in the space environment.
> •
Soft Skills:
> o
Strong problem -solving and analytical skills.
> o
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
> o
Ability to work in a fast -paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.

Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in India.
Preferred Qualifications
> •
Experience in design of satellite or CubeSat component/subsystems.
> •
Experience in design of deployable mechanisms
> •
Knowledge of space environmental effects (vibration, shock, thermal cycling, radiation) on
materials and structur es
> •
Experience with additive manufacturing for space hardware.
> •
Familiarity with design for integration and test (DFIT) principles.
