Job Description: Satellite AIT Engineer -Mechanical

Position: Satellite AIT Engineer -Mechanical
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana
Employment Type: Full -Time
Reports To: Lead – AIT
Job Summary:
Responsible for assembling satellite hardware, integrating mechanical subsystems, and
verifying that the spacecraft by ensuring everything fits and functions flawlessly. One
should run rigorous testing — vibration, thermal vacuum, functional, and performan ce
checks — to make sure each satellite can survive the extreme conditions of launch and
space.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Assembly and Integration
> •
Assemble satellite structures, panels, brackets, mechanisms, payloads, and
subsystems.
> •
Integrate mechanical, thermal, and sometimes electrical components into the
spacecraft.
> •
Install bearings, encoders, fasteners, and flight hardware according to
engineering drawings.
> •
Perform structural bonding and adhesive operations.
2. Satellite Build Activities
> •
Build spacecraft modules and subassemblies.
> •
Route and secure harnesses, cables, and mechanical interfaces.
> •
Use Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) for handling satellite
hardware safely.
> •
Support final spacecraft integration before environmental testing and launch.
3. Testing and Verification • Conduct qualification and acceptance tests.
> •
Support vibration, shock, acoustic, thermal -vacuum (TVAC), mass properties,
appendage deployment test, propulsion leak check and mechanical load
testing.
> •
Install test instrumentation and sensors.
> •
Verify that the spacecraft meets launch load design and mission requirements.
4. Design of Tooling & Fixtures
> •
Developing requirements, designs, and ongoing support for mechanical ground
support equipment (GSE), and supporting the management of inventory of tools,
GSE, and flight and non -flight spacecraft components.
> •
Design, develop and maintain tooling and fixtures required for satellite Assembly
& integration.
> •
Test Fixtures identification along with designers as per requirements and
procuring the same.
5. Quality Assurance and Inspection
> •
Perform first -level quality inspections.
> •
Verify torque values, alignments, dimensions, and assembly correctness.
> •
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and cleanroom procedures.
> •
Identify and report non -conformances or hardware issues.
6. Documentation and Reporting
> •
Create and maintain assembly records and test reports.
> •
Update integration logs and configuration documentation.
> •
Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures.
> •
Support preparation of integration and test plans.
7. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
> •
Diagnose assembly and integration issues.
> •
Support root -cause analysis during testing failures.
Work with design, systems, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to resolve
anomalies.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2 -3 years of hands on
experience handling End -to -End mechanical AIT for Nano, Micro and small satellites.
