We are looking for a Backend-focused Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on experience in JavaScript (MERN stack) and Python-based backend frameworks, who is eager to work on data-intensive, geospatial applications.
Role Overview
As a Full Stack Developer, you will primarily focus on backend development, API design, and data handling, while also contributing to frontend features for interactive dashboards and geospatial visualizations. You will work closely with GIS engineers, data scientists, and frontend developers to build scalable and high-performance applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python (Flask/FastAPI/Django).
Build and manage RESTful and GraphQL APIs for serving geospatial data, analytics, and application logic.
Handle data-heavy workflows, including ingestion, processing, and serving of large datasets.
Integrate geospatial data layers (raster/vector) into backend services and frontend applications.
Collaborate with frontend teams to support interactive maps and dashboards using tools like MapLibre, Leaflet, or similar libraries.
Work with databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MongoDB, or similar systems.
Assist in integrating AI/ML outputs into backend pipelines and APIs.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to technical documentation, version control, and CI/CD workflows.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills
2–3 years of hands-on experience in Full Stack or Backend-focused development.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
Solid backend experience with Node.js and Python frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, or Django).
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; basic knowledge of GraphQL is a plus.
Working knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL/PostGIS or MongoDB.
Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React and modern JavaScript practices.
Geospatial & Data (Basic to Intermediate)
Basic understanding of geospatial concepts (maps, layers, coordinates, raster vs vector data).
Hands-on or academic exposure to MapLibre, Leaflet, Mapbox GL, or similar mapping libraries.
Willingness to work with remote sensing or spatial datasets (prior experience is a plus, not mandatory).
Additional Skills (Good to Have)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with real-time data handling (WebSockets, MQTT, or streaming APIs).
Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or deployment workflows.
Interest in space-tech, geospatial analytics, or earth observation systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Geo informatics, or a related field.
Strong problem-solving skills and debugging skills with willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-paced startup environment.
Ability to understand complex systems and integrations.
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Benefits
Opportunity to work with India’s leading space-tech startup solving mission-critical, real-world problems.
Hands-on exposure to satellite data, geospatial systems, and AI-driven platforms.
Collaborative startup culture with high ownership and learning opportunities.
Work closely with experienced engineers, GIS experts, and AI researchers.
Chance to contribute to products used in defense, space, and critical decision-making systems.
