Day-to-Day responsibilities include:
- What You’ll Do
- Design solid rocket motors (SRM) for short-range strike systems
- Work on propellant formulation & grain geometry optimization
- Develop thrust profiles (boost, sustain, burn control)
- Design nozzle systems (convergent-divergent)
- Perform thermal & combustion analysis
- Plan and execute static fire tests
- Analyze test data and iterate rapidly
- Work with GNC + structures + avionics teams for full system integration
- You will be given a real propulsion problem (not textbook questions)
- You may be asked to design a motor, estimate thrust, and justify choices
- We look for practical thinking + build capability, not just equations

Responsibilities
- Design solid rocket motors (SRM) for short-range propulsion systems
- Work on propellant formulation and grain geometry optimization
- Develop and analyze thrust profiles (boost, sustain, burn control)
- Design and optimize nozzle systems (convergent-divergent)
- Perform thermal and combustion analysis for propulsion systems
- Plan and execute static fire tests for validation
- Analyze test data and iterate designs for performance improvement
- Collaborate with GNC, structures, and avionics teams for system integration
- Translate theoretical concepts into practical hardware and testing
Must Have
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, combustion, and fluid mechanics
- Hands-on understanding of solid propulsion systems
- Experience with rocket motor design or experimental propulsion setups
- Ability to translate theory → hardware → test validation
- Familiarity with tools like ANSYS / OpenRocket / MATLAB
Nice to Have
- Experience with defence / missile / rocket programs
- Knowledge of high-energy propellants & burn stability
- Experience in nozzle optimization & erosion analysis
- Hands-on work with static testing setups
