Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Finance Assistant to join our finance and accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Your primary focus will be ensuring accurate daily data entry, processing financial transactions, maintaining up-to-date ledgers, and supporting the month-end closing process.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, is highly efficient with spreadsheets, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Day-to-Day Data Entry & Ledger Maintenance

  • Accurately input daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger entries into the accounting software.

  • Verify, classify, and post daily receipts, sales invoices, and vendor bills.

  • Maintain and update internal financial sheets, trackers, and digital filing systems for easy retrieval and audit readiness.

2. Daily Financial Operations

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure bank statements match internal accounting records.

  • Monitor daily cash flow activity and assist in processing employee expense reports.

  • Follow up on outstanding customer invoices and assist in resolving billing discrepancies or payment delays.

3. Administrative & Compliance Support

  • Assist the finance manager with month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Prepare basic daily or weekly financial summaries.

  • Ensure all financial documentation complies with internal controls and standard company procedures.

 

 

 

 

 



Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a CA Intermediate.

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a finance assistant, bookkeeping, or data entry clerk role. Entry-level candidates with strong internship experience are welcome to apply.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, or SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and mathematical calculations.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize daily recurring tasks effectively to meet strict daily and weekly deadlines.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
