Role: Senior Electrical Assembly Integration and Testing (EAIT) Engineer
Employment Type:Full Time
Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Work Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in Electrical Assembly & integration of components/products within the aerospace, satellite manufacturing, automotive, or defence industries.
Role Description:
An Electrical AIT Engineer in the PRD team of the Space Department of Pixxel.
Responsibilities & Duties
Independently own and execute Electrical Assembly, Integration and Testing (EAIT) activities for a spacecraft mission end-to-end, from harness design and fabrication through satellite assembly, integration, functional testing and environmental test campaigns.
Collaborate closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Design and Production teams to review spacecraft designs from an AIT perspective and provide inputs related to manufacturability, accessibility, integration, testability, harness routing and maintainability.
Identify and define spacecraft harness requirements based on system and subsystem requirements, including wire and cable selection, connector selection, current and voltage requirements, grounding, shielding, EMI/EMC considerations, routing and mechanical interfaces.
Create and maintain detailed harness datasheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, fabrication worksheets and associated documentation based on ICDs and engineering requirements. Ensure consistency between design documentation, datasheets and fabrication inputs.
Oversee and execute the harness fabrication, inspection, qualification and acceptance processes, including coordination with internal and external fabrication teams.
As part of Pixxel's Production Team, oversee and execute satellite assembly, integration and testing activities along with technicians and engineers. Take ownership of the production and AIT activities for an assigned set of spacecraft.
Develop detailed electrical AIT procedures, assembly sequences, work instructions and checklists for technicians based on approved engineering designs and requirements.
Verify and validate the implementation of AIT procedures on the shop floor, ensuring that each activity is executed in accordance with approved drawings, procedures and technical requirements.
Troubleshoot electrical and integration issues encountered during satellite AIT, including root-cause identification, corrective actions and verification of implemented solutions.
Plan and coordinate EAIT activities, resources, equipment and timelines to support mission milestones and production schedules.
Maintain accurate records of satellite AIT progress, inspections, deviations, observations, test results and configuration changes through enterprise software and/or controlled manual records.
Support and participate in spacecraft functional and environmental test campaigns, including preparation, execution, troubleshooting and documentation of test activities and results.
Collaborate with Design, Systems, Mechanical, QA and Production teams to ensure compliance with technical requirements, drawings, procedures and applicable workmanship standards.
Support continuous improvement of EAIT processes, including standardization, documentation, tooling, fabrication methods and AIT workflows.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians involved in EAIT activities.

Strong ability to read, interpret and work with engineering drawings, datasheets, technical reports, wiring diagrams, schematics, ICDs, assembly procedures and test plans.
Good experience with resource planning and production management tools, including SAP, ERP or equivalent systems.
Proficiency in documentation and planning tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Jira or equivalent tools.
Strong understanding of electrical integration, spacecraft AIT processes and harness engineering, with hands-on proficiency in relevant tools and equipment.
Strong hands-on experience with electrical test and measurement equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, current monitors, electronic loads and related test equipment.
Strong understanding of spacecraft subsystems, electrical interfaces, spacecraft components and their integration requirements.
Good understanding of spacecraft environmental testing such as TVAC, vibration and EMI/EMC testing, and the associated AIT preparation and execution activities.
Strong understanding of ESD control, cleanroom procedures, contamination control, surface preparation and applicable workmanship standards and best practices.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively across engineering and production teams.

About Pixxel:
Pixxel is a space data company and spacecraft manufacturer redefining Earth observation with hyperspectral imaging. The company’s first three commercial hyperspectral satellites—Fireflies—deliver imagery at 5-meter resolution and 135+ spectral bands, providing 50x richer detail than traditional Earth observation systems and unlocking insights across agriculture, climate, energy, environment, and more.
Once fully deployed, Pixxel’s constellation of 18-24 satellites will capture imagery across up to 250 bands in VNIR and SWIR ranges, with a 40 km swath and daily global revisit capability. Pixxel’s most unique strength is its full-stack approach, integrating every layer of the value chain from satellite hardware and manufacturing to AI-powered analytics.
Pixxel’s satellite constellation is complemented by Aurora, its in-house Earth Observation Studio that simplifies satellite imagery analysis and democratises remote sensing for all. Designed to make hyperspectral data more accessible, Aurora by Pixxel combines high-frequency imagery with AI-powered tools to generate actionable insights, even for users without technical backgrounds. The third pillar of Pixxel’s ecosystem is its in-house satellite manufacturing capability. Beyond building its own spacecraft, Pixxel also provides satellite systems and subsystems to other organisations. This dual capacity sets it apart in a sector where most companies focus on either payload design or data operations, but not both.
Pixxel’s team is young but deeply mission-aligned, with a culture rooted in curiosity, speed, and long-term thinking. As the company grows its constellation and expands Aurora, the focus remains on making space-based insights practical, scalable, and genuinely helpful so that the health of the planet becomes measurable and action becomes possible.
Pixxel was the only Indian startup selected for the Techstars Starburst Space Accelerator in Los Angeles and has been recognised in TIME’s Best Inventions of 2023, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, and Via Satellite’s Top Innovators list.
