Planys Technologies is a leading underwater inspection and survey company in India, specializing in robotic and data-driven solutions for complex submerged environments. The company delivers advanced inspection, survey, and diagnostics services using indigenously developed ROVs and AUVs. With a strong presence across infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors, Planys is expanding its survey and geophysics vertical to support critical applications such as subsea asset mapping, and inland water surveys. The company integrates cutting-edge sensing technologies with robust field execution and analytics to provide reliable, engineering-grade insights to clients including PSU energy companies and EPC contractors.
Role & Responsibilities
This role involves planning, execution, interpretation, and reporting of geophysical and/ or hydrographic surveys for pipeline and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for meeting client qualification requirements, ensuring data integrity, and signing off survey and geophysical reports submitted to clients.
Survey Planning & Execution
· Familiarization with survey equipment and learning operation procedures
· Familiarization with industry survey software or OEM software
· Plan and execute river crossing surveys, including:
o Sub-bottom profiling (SBP)
o Side Scan Sonar (SSS)
o Bathymetry (Single Beam / MBES)
o DGPS positioning
· Ensure compliance with client specifications and QA/QC protocols
· Mobilization and operation of survey equipment in inland or nearshore environment
· Health and safety compliance during project execution
· Regular equipment maintenance and upkeep
Geophysical Data Processing & Interpretation
· Process and interpret:
o Sub-bottom profiles (sediment layers, strata identification, buried artifacts)
o Sonar imagery (bedforms, obstructions)
· Generate:
o Riverbed profiles
o Burial depth assessments
o Crossing feasibility insights
Reporting & Sign-Off
· Prepare and review:
o Final survey reports
o Geophysical interpretation reports
· Act as the qualified signatory, ensuring reports meet client eligibility criteria
· Interface with clients, consultants, and EPC contractors for clarifications
Compliance & Documentation
· Maintain documentation as per:
o Tender requirements
o Industry standards (IHO S-44 for hydrography where applicable)
· Ensure calibration, logs, and traceability of survey data
Additional Responsibilities
· Execute and/or supervise SSS, MBES surveys, CIPL surveys or similar requirements
· Integration with ROV-based inspection surveys where required
Note: Travel Requirement
Active participation and leadership in key product trials is essential. The role requires frequent travel, including extended assignments within India and abroad. Candidates unwilling to travel should not apply.
