## About Pluto
Pluto engineers scooter-sized vehicles purpose-built for last-mile delivery, carrying 2× more orders than conventional two-wheelers.
## About the Role
Own the structural backbone of Pluto's electric vehicle platform, including chassis, suspension, brakes, and steering from concept to production.
## Responsibilities
* Own structural and chassis systems from concept, validation, tooling, and SOP through production release.
* Drive design decisions for chassis, suspension, brakes, steering, structural packaging, and manufacturability.
* Integrate battery, powertrain, and electronics into a tight and practical vehicle structure.
* Lead supplier feasibility reviews, DFM discussions, tooling sign-offs, and cost trade-offs.
* Manage PLM governance, revision control, EBOM integrity, and engineering change management through ECN and ECR processes.
* Provide hands-on technical leadership during prototype, pilot, and validation builds.
* Collaborate with manufacturing engineering on jigs, fixtures, welding sequences, and assembly processes.
* Ensure structural systems meet AIS and CMVR requirements.
* Own root-cause analysis for field issues, warranty concerns, quality problems, and fitment issues.
* Drive cost and weight optimization without compromising safety or performance.
* Mentor junior engineers and help build stronger engineering standards and lessons learned.
## Requirements
* 7+ years of experience in chassis and structural engineering, ideally on 2W, 3W, or EV platforms.
* Experience shipping production vehicles or production-grade hardware.
* Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, brake feel, suspension geometry, steering compliance, and real-world structural trade-offs.
* Experience working with suppliers on feasibility, DFM, tooling, cost, and production readiness.
* Strong command of PLM systems, DFMEA, DVP, PPAP, GD&T, and production release processes.
* Ability to read CAE and test data and convert insights into design action.
* Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to align teams and drive decisions.
