**About the Role:**
We are building a next-generation electric vehicle platform at **SINA Mobility**, focusing on efficient battery systems, robust BMS architecture, and integrated vehicle charging solutions.
We’re looking for a passionate **Battery & BMS Development Engineer** to lead end-to-end design, testing, and validation of lithium-ion battery packs and charging subsystems. This is a full time opportunity, 1st 5 months would be on probation with salary limited upto 15k/ month. The full time hiring would be decided post the completion of probation period(depending on the performance). The interested candidate should have the below mentioned skills
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Battery Pack Development**
* Design, size, and develop **lithium-ion battery packs** (NMC/LFP cells) for two-wheeler or light EV applications.
* Perform **cell selection, configuration (series/parallel),** and pack architecture based on voltage/current targets.
* Design battery enclosures considering **thermal management, mechanical integrity, and safety standards** (AIS-156, IP67, etc.).
* Develop **wiring harnesses, interconnects, bus bars, and fuses.**
**Battery Management System (BMS)**
* Work on **BMS hardware and software architecture** — including cell balancing, SOC/SOH estimation, protection logic, and CAN communication.
* Interface with suppliers or develop in-house **custom BMS firmware**.
* Integrate BMS with **vehicle controller and telemetry** systems.
* Validate and calibrate **sensors (voltage, current, temperature)**.
* Develop charge safety, cut-off, and protection circuitry.
**Below mentioned aren't required, but can increase the chances.**
**Charging System Integration**
* Knowledge about design of **on-board charger (OBC)** and **DC fast charging interface** as per relevant standards (IEC 62196, CHAdeMO, Bharat DC001, etc.).
* Work with external vendors for **charger–vehicle handshake protocols (CAN, PWM, PLC)**.
**Testing & Validation**
* Conduct **performance, durability, and abuse tests** (short circuit, overcharge, thermal runaway).
* Coordinate **validation at NABL labs** for AIS-156, AIS-038 Rev 2 compliance.
* Analyze battery pack data for degradation, efficiency, and cycle life improvements.
**Documentation & Cross-Functional Work**
* Prepare **schematics, test reports, and BOMs.**
* Support **vehicle integration**, mechanical design, and homologation teams.
* Manage **supplier evaluation and sourcing** for cells, BMS PCBs, and charging components.
**Key skills required:**
* 1–6 years in EV battery development, preferably with 2W/3W/LCV manufacturers or Tier-1 suppliers (college projects would also be considered)
* Should have core knowledge in Lithium-ion cell chemistry (LFP/NMC), pack design, battery modeling, thermal management.
* Knowledge about tools/ software like Altium / KiCAD / MATLAB / Simulink / LTspice / CANalyzer.
* Good understanding of materials & ability to learn new techniques faster.
* Have their own vehicle to commute between office, factory & suppliers.
**Nice-to-have:**Experience in battery simulation, BMS firmware (C/C++), and charging protocol integration.
Job location is **Peenya, Bangalore**.
**Salary** payment would be upto 15000/month, for 5 months. Salary for full time would be decided post probation completion.
