Tonbo Imaging seeks a Robotics Firmware and control Engineer with comprehensive experience in Firmware development, specifically * Architecting and realizing firmware for motion control systems, robotic subsystems which involve interfacing micro-controllers and GPU processors with mechatronic components, sensors and actuators * Configuring 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers. Interfacing peripherals over communication protocols such as SPI, UART, CAN, I2C as needed. * Familiarity with concepts of feedback control and signal processing to implement control and signal processing approaches in C code necessary to accomplish overall product performance * Hands on experience in microcontroller firmware coding and debugging along with relevant IDE tools Experience with specific mechatronic applications in motion control, stabilization, robotics and/or flight applications with GPS, inertial sensors, vision based sensing etc will be a big advantage. The position involves a significant level of autonomy and responsibility in which a self-motivated applicant must work independently and closely with other subject matter specialists to develop holistic product design solutions **Education, Skills & Characteristics** * Applicant should possess a Bachelors or Masters in Electronics/ Software / mechatronics. * Applicant must have at least 1+ years of proven experience in developing relevant coding applications - successfully realizing as well as validating them. * Strong coding expertise in C, C++, python as required. Knowledge of RTOS is an advantage. * Familiarity with software development lifecycle as relevant to firmware including good coding practices for future maintainability. * Experience in Mechatronic component selection and sizing to meet product function is greatly desired. * Strong debugging skills. Hands-on experience to assess source of performance issues arising from system dynamics, electronics hardware vs firmware bugs and timing is greatly desired. * Experience with model-based simulation and development tools such as Simulink and Matlab is a big plus. Good team player and should have strong analytical, communication, logical and inter-personal skills. Ability to work in a challenging environment where multi-tasking will be required. Job Responsibilities include but not restricted to * End-to-End Ownership from concept to realization of product functions. * Assess, isolate and fix source of issues arising from multiple interactions of mechanical, electronics, sensors and actuators. * Mentor junior engineers
